Work Creator notes (display):
" Born in Bangkok, Thailand in 1978. Nui came to the United States after received a bachelors's degree in Advertising from Bangkok University in 2000. He studied painting at Morehead State University, Kentucky. In 2003 he graduated with a Master of Arts in Studio Art Degree. Nui moved to Athens, Ohio in 2004 to attend the Master of Fine Art program at Ohio University. There he discovered that intaglio is the perfect medium for his drawing style. Nui began to develop his printmaking skills while studied with Professor Art Werger. In the summer of 2005 Nui went back to Bangkok for the first time after 5 years in the United States. He looked at Thai culture and Thai art in a completely different perspective. After he back from Thailand, his works have changed fantastically. Influences he brought back from Thailand play a major role in his work, both in technique and conception. At the end of the graduate school his intaglio became stronger than his painting. Nui created he Myths of Thailand series for his theses exhibition in spring 2007. After received the M.F.A. degree he stayed in Athens, Ohio for 1 year to work and exhibit his art in many major exhibitions around the United States. In the summer of 2008 Nui decide to move back to Thailand to open an art studio in his hometown, Bangkok." Sirapoom Chaveesuk
