Work Creator notes (display):
Loose Ends I don't know what I'm doing... But I like it that way. I mean, it's a lot harder to try to create without having a rational reason to follow, a logical path of pursuit. But it is the unknown that interest me. I want to explore the gray areas deeply enough that I find myself in the black. I want to confuse my worlds and my senses so that I can find new forms and languages that have always been there but were inaccessible to the controlled mind. Now this might suggest that I'm hoping to go crazy, but that is not my purpose. I compose exercises, scenarios, experiments, and projects that give me structure to explore the unstructured. These controls allow me to lose control. If I tie a rope around my waist I know I can follow it back out. But I am also interested in the moment when I realize the chase is hot and the cord of control too short. Do I cut the chord? Do I light the fuse? Do I burn the toast? Crack the glass? What are we willing to risk for discovery?
