Graduated from North Central College in 1972 before moving to Denver, CO. Worked in Jalapa, Veracruz, Mexico in the early 1980s as Director of the Study Abroad Program for the University of Colorado Boulder. Works as a Spanish interpreter and hosted a bilingual radio program focused on music, culture and politics of Latin America.

James Baca (American, active early 1970s to present)

James Baca was born and raised in Denver by a single mother in the projects. He attended North High School and then served in the Air Force. Upon his return, he attended the Community College of Denver, where his photography career began. Baca started doing freelance photography for small papers at the time. In 1973, he joined the staff of La Voz. In 1980, he began to work with the Denver Catholic Register. Throughout his career, Baca has rubbed elbows with not only the Pope and Mother Teresa, but also with the activists and heroes of the Chicano Movement.
