Mary Motian-Meadows received her MA in art history from California State Fullerton with a focus on Mexican modern art and specifically Frida Kahlo. Since 1981, she has worked as a freelance journalist for local and national publications in Denver. Fueled by her interest in the murals of Los Trés Grandes (Jose Clemente Orozco, Diego Rivera, and David Alfaro Siqueiros), she began to explore the murals of Colorado. Her research resulted in a comprehensive and unique collection of primary materials, including interviews, letters, and photographs, as well as a detailed listing of Colorado’s murals. In 2012, Motian-Meadows and Georgia Garnsey published The Murals of Colorado: Walls That Speak based on this research. https://muralsofcolorado.wordpress.com/mary-motian-meadows/
