review of exhibits at the Soap Factory in Minneapolis, July 12 - August 24; includes a paragraph on "Untitled (Water Work)"
Work Description:
Matt Ulrich and CU Boulder Art and Art History faculty member Richard Saxton exhibited "Untitled (Water Work)" in the "Open Forum: Encampment" show at the Soap Factory in Minneapolis, MN (July 12 - August 24, 2003). The project used a bucket of rocks, an inflatable kiddie pool, and Mississippi River plants to create a recyclable water system. Sink water drained into a natural filtration system, which was piped into a pool filled with local plants, then transferred to a 40-gallon drum on a solar-powered tricycle and cycled to nearby community gardens.
